CAFÉ KAIKU in the open-air museum area

Café Kaiku is located at beautiful Ruokolahti Church Hill, nearby the lake Saimaa, in the main building of the outdoor museum area. Come to our delightful and atmospheric Karelian cabin and enjoy your coffee with delicious pastry made by local women!

Usually we have, for example, Karelian pies, rhubarb pie or other berry pie, vegetable pie, cheesecake, buns and other fresh and traditional, home-baked pastries served with coffee, tea, lemonade or juice. In the beautiful environment, in the old, traditional cabin or in the peaceful courtyard, it is nice to stay for a while and enjoy the surroundings as well as the tasty pastries with a steaming coffee cup.  From time to time we also hold special theme days, when we bake waffles or make special  fish burgers, for example. You should follow these theme days on our facebook page.

We prefer local products, services and groceries. We recycle our garbage and are committed to produce our services in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.

If ordered beforehand, we also offer very tasty Karelian catering according to your wishes. There is enough space for 45 – 50 eating guests.

Kaiku organises also various different events in the outdoor museum area, such as common singing events, playing days, theatre visits, traditional markets and so on. Follow the events on the Facebook page of Café Kaiku or check out our own calendar. The Kaiku staff can also arrange special programme for your group, e.g. music acts or a guided tour through the area around the Church Hill. There is a lot to be seen and to be experienced around here!
